Shortly, India would want to keep trying to get to the top of the ICC ODI rankings.
When India plays New Zealand in the second ODI, they will try to win the series.
India is in fourth place in the ODI rankings right now, with 110 points.
By India Today Web Desk: India will try to win the second ODI against New Zealand in Raipur in order to win the series and strengthen their bid for the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings. The team is led by Rohit Sharma.
With a win in the Raipur ODI, Team India could move closer to the top of the ICC ODI rankings. Even though New Zealand lost the first ODI by a small margin, they are still the best ODI team.
But India can pass the Blackcaps if they win all three games in the current three-game series. The Men in Blue beat Sri Lanka 3-0, and if they beat New Zealand in the same way, they will move to the top of the ODI rankings.

India is currently in fourth place in the ODI rankings, with 110 points. They are behind New Zealand, England, and Australia. But if India wins the series 3-0 against New Zealand, they will have 114 points, which is more than New Zealand.
After being reduced to 131 for six, New Zealand was given another 206 runs to add to their 350-run total. This should make India nervous. The visitors looked like they were going to win after coming from behind, but Mohammed Siraj’s brilliant play stopped them.
Shubman Gill’s brilliant double-century on the bat helped India reach a good score, but the rest of the team fell short. In the game before, against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli’s work on his own stood out.
DISCIPLINE IN DEATH BOWLING?
India put Shardul Thakur on the team instead of the very fast Umran Malik, but after the first ODI, the team’s leaders need to decide quickly if they want a batsman or a specialist who can shake up the other team with extra speed and take wickets in the middle overs.
Siraj has become a bowler who can do everything, but others need to step up. Mohammad Shami was great with the new ball, but Bracewell gave him a run for his money. Hardik was also a lot of money.
Washington Sundar had a forgettable game, while Kuldeep Yadav kept up his impressive run. The team could play both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep at the same time, but they have decided to only play one wrist spinner.
WILL NZ LEVEL SERIES?
In the first episode of the series, New Zealand’s never-give-up attitude was clear, and they could take heart from that. It won’t happen often that Bracewell, a number seven, and Mitchell Santner, a number eight, save the team from a hopeless situation.

Finn Allen took some risky shots, but they didn’t pay off. Without Kane Williamson, New Zealand needs someone to hold the innings together.
Gill went after the pace trio of Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson, and Blair Tickner very hard, so they will want to be more accurate. It’s still not clear if Ish Sodhi will be fully healthy for the game that his team must win.
