Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, said today that India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is capable of mobilising the globe to solve the “tremendous problem” of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
During the leaders’ virtual meeting to announce Air India’s 250 aircraft deal with Airbus, he said, “We are working for the success of India’s G-20 Presidency in a difficult context with the Russian aggression against Ukraine.” This was said by him during the meeting. “We are working for the success of India’s G-20 Presidency in a difficult context with the Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
The President of France said that “India, under your leadership, definitely can be the one to mobilise the entire globe and assist us confront the great crisis we have in front of us.” India is now the largest democracy in the world.
Although India has not made any public statements condemning Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did tell Russia’s President Vladimir Putin that “today’s period is not of war” in December of last year.
The public words made by the Prime Minister of India (PM) during a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the previous year were applauded by global leaders and were even included in the G-20 proclamation in Indonesia.
Mr. Macron cited the agreement between Air India and Airbus for the purchase of 250 aircraft as one of the most significant developments in the long-standing strategic and amicable alliance that exists between India and France.
