India made history today when it won 100 hundred medals at the 2023 Asian Games in China. This marks India’s inaugural ascent to the milestone of 100 medals in the games. At the events, the Indian athletes are having an outstanding day and are in contention for additional medals. In addition to the cricket gold match that India will compete in, wrestling matches will also occur today. Indian athletes were commended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their historic performance.

The 19th Asian Games commenced on a positive note for India today, as Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the gold medal in women’s compound archery. This past Saturday in Hangzhou, Indian archer Aditi Gopichand Swami won the bronze medal in the women’s compound archery women’s individual event with an outstanding performance. Conversely, the women’s Kabbadi team won the gold medal, bringing India’s total medal tally to 100 and its gold count to 25. At the Asian Games 2023, the Indian women’s kabaddi team held a 14-9 lead over Chinese Taipei in the gold medal match. In Hangzhou, the two teams had played to a 34-34 stalemate in the opening match of the season. Six bonus points were awarded to the Indian intruders during the initial half.

In the meantime, at 12:30 PM IST today, India and the Islamic Republic of Iran will compete in the men’s kabaddi final of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. At present, India occupies the fourth position in the medal tally, having amassed a total of 100 medals.
