India’s G20 presidency will be decisive
G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said at a press conference on Friday that India’s G20 presidency will be decisive, inclusive, and focused on results. He also said that G20 is important because it represents 85% of the world’s GDP, 78% of global trade, and 2/3 of the world’s population.
Kant said that it is important because of the ongoing crises in the world.
As part of the India’s G20 Presidency, a new group called Startup20 has been set up. According to an official release from Startup20 PRO, the goal of Startup20 is to create a global story about how to help startups and create synergies between startups, corporations, investors, innovation agencies, and other key ecosystem stakeholders.

The main goal is to bring the global startup ecosystem together by working together and looking ahead.
According to the official statement, the goal of this group is to give startups from G20 member countries a place to meet and work together to come up with actionable advice. This could be in the form of building the capabilities of enablers, identifying funding gaps, creating more job opportunities, meeting SDG targets, building climate resilience, and growing an inclusive ecosystem.

There will be five different things going on as part of Startup20.
On January 28 and 29, the first meeting of Startup20 will take place in Hyderabad. The summit will happen in Gurugram in July 2023. Three other events will happen in different parts of India before and after the summit.
The G20 countries and 9 other countries from around the world are among the countries that are taking part. We expect about 80 delegates. The press release said that around 100 Indian delegates, such as incubators, startups, investors, and industry partners, are expected to attend.
