An Indigo flight that took off from Mumbai airport and landed at Nagpur airport hits tail during landing. According to the media the incident occurred on flight 6E-203 from Mumbai to Nagpur on April 14, 2023.
According to a statement issued by IndiGo, the aircraft was halted at Nagpur airport for inspection and maintenance. The airline added that there were no reported injuries during the incident.
“On April 14, 2023, flight 6E 203 from Mumbai experienced a tail strike upon landing in Nagpur,” The aircraft was placed on the ground at Nagpur airport for inspection and maintenance. The incident is being thoroughly investigated, IndiGo stated in a statement.
During takeoff or landing, a tail strike occurs when the rear or empennage of an aircraft collides with the ground or any other stationary object.
Earlier on 15 April, an IndiGo flight bound for Bagdogra, West Bengal, returned to Delhi due to a technical issue. A source told PTI that the plane made an emergency landing due to a technical issue. IndiGo stated that flight 6E 6282 from Delhi to Bagdogra was diverted back to Delhi as a precaution. “The pilot detected a technical problem and requested a return to the airport. The aircraft has successfully landed and is currently undergoing inspection. The passengers were flown to Bagdogra on an alternate aircraft, IndiGo said in a statement.

Previously, on April 4, an IndiGo flight bound for Varanasi was forced to make an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, Telangana, owing to a technical issue. In response to the emergency landing of the flight destined for Varanasi, the airline stated that the flight was rerouted to Hyderabad as a “precaution.”
