INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY HISTORY:
International Dance Day was established by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute ITI, UNESCO’s principal collaborator in the performing arts. Since its inception in 1982, the International Dance Committee and the International Theatre Institute ITI have annually selected a distinguished dancer.

The International Theatre Institute ITI has announced that the primary celebration for International Dance Day 2023 will take place in Shanghai from April 24 to April 30, 2023. Various celebrations will take place in various dance communities around the world. ITI, Shanghai Theatre Academy, and the China Dance Association are co-organizing this event.
