External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar arrives in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, on Sunday for a three-day visit from New Delhi.
This is the first-ever visit to Namibia by an Indian Minister of External Affairs.

“Arrived in Windhoek. “Thank Jenelly Matundu, Namibia’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, for receiving me so warmly,” Jaishankar tweeted after his arrival.
“We anticipate a fruitful visit that will strengthen our enduring ties,” he added.
During the visit, the minister of external affairs will confer with the country’s top leadership and other ministers of government.
According to official sources, Jaishankar will also co-chair the inaugural session of the joint commission meeting alongside Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the Namibian deputy prime minister and foreign minister.

In addition, he will interact with the Indian diaspora in Namibia.
In the first phase of his tour, the minister spent June 1-3 in South Africa, where he attended the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting.
