Ranchi, State Bureau. Jharkhand High Court advocate Rajiv Kumar has handed over the investigation of the case of taking bribe of Rs 50 lakh in the name of managing the case to the CBI. Now the agency will also go to the bottom of the game of getting the case managed by allegedly giving money to the officers and judicial officers. The court has asked the CBI to start the investigation within 15 days.
Police arrested in Kolkata
Rajeev Kumar was arrested by the police in Kolkata on the complaint of Kolkata businessman Amit Agarwal. Later, ED also arrested Amit Agarwal in connection with the money laundering probe. The ED has found both equally guilty in this case in the preliminary investigation. CBI will also take a copy of the digital evidence related to the conversation between Amit and advocate Rajeev along with the copy of Amit Agarwal’s complaint from the Kolkata Police.
Arrest claim with Rs 50 lakh
It may be known that the Bengal Police claimed to have arrested Rajeev Kumar with Rs 50 lakh on July 31 last. In this case, an FIR was lodged by businessman Amit Agarwal at Hare Street police station against advocate Rajeev Kumar. Amit Agarwal had claimed that the advocate had demanded Rs 10 crore in the name of managing a PIL filed against him in the Jharkhand High Court. The matter was fixed at Rs 1 crore, for which he went to Kolkata to collect Rs 50 lakh as the first instalment, where Amit Agarwal got him arrested with the help of the Bengal Police.
