Berlin: The German presidency announced on Friday that King Charles III of the United Kingdom will travel to France and Germany for his first official visits outside of the United Kingdom.
In a video message, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced that the British royal would be visiting Germany from March 29-31. He remarked that it was “also an important European gesture” that King Charles chose Germany and France as his first destinations before his coronation. The statement was made in conjunction with the announcement that the royal would be in Germany during those dates.

Separately, the French administration shared the news that Prince Charles will be in France between March 26 and March 29.

Mr. Steinmeier has stated that he and German first lady Elke Buedenbender will receive Prince Charles and Queen Consort Camilla in Berlin with military honours before welcoming them to a state luncheon at his Bellevue Palace, which is located in the centre of the city.

The spouses will continue their trip together the following day, March 31, to the northern harbour city of Hamburg. On March 30, they will make joint visits in Berlin and the state of Brandenburg, which is located nearby.

According to Mr. Steinmeier, “This meeting early on emphasises the close and heartfelt friendship between our countries and our residents.”

The chief of state of Germany stated that he had extended the invitation to Prince Charles during the memorial of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, which took place in September of last year.

The fact that he is still visiting a half year later demonstrates how highly the monarch regards the relationship that exists between our two nations, according to Mr. Steinmeier.
