Indian batter KL Rahul has undergoes successful surgery on his thigh on Tuesday.
“Hi everyone, My surgery has just concluded, and it was successful. Thank you to the doctors and medical personnel for ensuring my comfort and ensuring a smooth procedure. I am now officially on the path to recovery. I am determined to regain my form and return to the field. Upward and forward!” KL Rahul explained in his blog post.
Due to his injury, the Indian batter will miss the impending World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia and the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On May 8, BCCI announced that Ishan Kishan would replace KL Rahul in the World Test Championship. On May 5, Lucknow Super Giants replaced KL Rahul, who was also the team’s captain, with Karun Nair.
On May 1, the LSG captain was injured in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In the second over, while chasing a ball in the outfield, he grasped his thigh and then hobbled off the field.
The manner in which Rahul limped to the boundary indicated that it was a severe injury. He immediately collapsed on the field and emergency personnel attended to him.
The support staff requested a stretcher promptly to assist him off the field. The wicketkeeper-batsman Rahul had to abandon the field, and he did not return until the chase of 127 runs became unexpectedly tense.
