Nitin Desai, a renowned art director, has dead. The police have yet to release additional information regarding the cause of his dead. Wednesday morning, he was discovered dead at his N D Studio in Karjat. However, initial indications indicate that he committed suicide. Additional information regarding the cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
Nitin Desai was the recipient of four National Awards for Best Art Direction. During his two-decade career in Bollywood, he has collaborated with renowned directors such as Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. His significant works include, among others, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodha Akbar, Lagaan, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, and Bajirao Mastani. His last endeavour as an art director was the 2019 film Panipat, which he worked on with Ashutosh Gowarikar. Hollywood’s prestigious Art Directors’ Guild Film Society and American Cinematheque honoured him for his work.
Vinod Tawde, the general secretary of the BJP and a close associate of Nitin Desai, stated, “I used to counsel and speak with him frequently. I explained to him how Amitabh Bachchan had endured tremendous losses and returned to life. Even if the studio was affixed due to loans, we told him he could start over. It is very upsetting to learn of his passing. I spoke with him the day prior.”

In 2003, Nitin produced the film Desh Devi Maa Ashapura in addition to his art direction duties. In addition, he produced the immensely popular Marathi television series Raja Shivchhatrapati. Nitin established ND Studios in Karjat, a suburb of Mumbai, in 2005. The 52-acre studio has served as the location for numerous film sets, the most notable being Jodha Akbar. Hello Jai Hind! (2011) and Ajintha (2012) are examples of his directorial work.
