Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, whose security was beefed up in response to frequent death threats, headed the list of ten principal targets that Lawrence Bishnoi wanted to eliminate. The incarcerated gangster told the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that he intended to murder the celebrity.
In December of last year, Bishnoi admitted to the NIA that on his orders, his aide Sampat Nehra had conducted a reconnaissance of Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai. However, the Special Task Force of the Haryana Police apprehended Nehra.
Lawrence Bishnoi explained that the reason for this is that in 1998, Salman Khan hunted the black buck, which is considered sacrosanct by the Bishnoi community. To avenge the community’s feelings, the mobster stated that he intended to murder the actor.
Threat Calls To Salman Khan
On April 10, Mumbai Police received a call containing a threat. The caller, who identified himself as Rockey Bhai from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, claimed to be a cow-protector (Gau Rakshak). On April 30, the caller threatened to “eliminate” Salman Khan. The contact was made several weeks after an individual was arrested for sending a threatening email to the ‘Dabangg’ actor.
The Mumbai police have provided Salman Khan with Y+ security because the actor is believed to be in danger. The administration of Maharashtra State took this action after receiving a letter of threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The Mumbai Police have also arrested Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Garg for allegedly sending threatening emails to the office of actor Salman Khan. Bandra Police filed a complaint under IPC sections 506(2), 120(b), and 34.
In his confession, Bishnoi stated that he was also targeting Shagunpreet, the manager of the late Punjabi vocalist Sidhu MoosaWala, in addition to Salman Khan. Shagunpreet was on Bishnoi’s hit list because he managed the late singer’s finances and sheltered Vicky Middukhera, a student leader in Punjab politics who supported Lawrence Bishnoi and was subsequently murdered.
Earlier in March, in a joint operation with Rajasthan police, Mumbai police arrested Dhakad Ram in the threat case involving Salman Khan.
