1.The Manipur administration extended the ban on internet services in the state until July 10, 2023, on Wednesday. The Manipur Home Department has issued an order stating that measures are being taken to prevent the imminent threat of loss of life, destruction to public and private property, and widespread disruptions to public tranquility. “In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 2 of Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017, having satisfied that the situation is likely to cause serious disturbances to the peaceful coexistence and maintenance of public order, do hereby order further suspension/curbing of mobile data services, internet/data services including broadband viz. Reliance Jio Fibre, Airtel Xtreme Black, BSNL FTTH, VPN etc. and internet/data services including broadband
2. According to the official notification, this order will remain in effect for an additional five days from the time this suspension order goes into effect until 3:00 p.m. on July 10.
3. The state government stated that there is apprehension that some antisocial elements may use social media extensively to transmit images, hate speech, and hate video messages, inciting the passions of the public, which could have grave repercussions for the law and order situation in Manipur.

Ronaldo, a 27-year-old man, was killed in a clash at Samaram on Tuesday night after a 700-800-person mob attempted to assault the camp of the 3rd IRB at Wangbal, 4 kilometers away, to steal firearms from the police arsenal. The soldier conducted his duties admirably and prevented the looting of the police weapons store, according to security officials. They added that he was a member of the IRB detachment guarding the armory.
7.The Luangshangol/Phaileng area along the border of the Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts reportedly experienced gunfire between unidentified parties of gunmen throughout the day. The situation was under control, the authorities said in a statement.

On Tuesday night, Manipuri national team footballer Jeakson Singh caused a stir by enveloping himself in a Meitei flag while collecting his individual medal after India defeated Kuwait in the SAFF Championship final. Jeakson enveloped himself in the Flag of Kangleipak or Salai Taret Flag, which is a rectangular seven-color flag representing the seven clan dynasties of the Meitei ethnic group in ancient Manipur.
