Manish Sidodia Sent To Tihar: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia Sent To Tihar Jail No. 1 after a special court placed him in judicial custody until March 20. Sisodia was detained in the liquor policy case.

Here are 10 major developments in this big story:

.Mr. Sisodia was brought before the special court this afternoon following his release from CBI custody. The special judge MK Nagpal placed him in judicial custody after remarking that the CBI had not requested further custody but could do so if necessary.

.The court has permitted the AAP leader to transport medications prescribed during his medical exam. In addition, he is permitted to carry a pair of glasses, a diary, a pen, and a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. As requested by Mr. Sisodia’s attorney, the court has ordered the jail administration to examine Mr. Sisodia’s request to be kept in the meditation cell.

.The No. 2 AAP member has requested parole, and his request will be reviewed on Friday. He was detained on February 26 and held for five days by the CBI. The court subsequently added two days to the sentence. According to sources, the CBI may not pursue further custody.

.Mr. Sisodia, 51, stated in his parole petition that he was being mentally harassed by CBI officials who repeatedly asked him the same questions.

.As all recoveries in the case have been made, according to his attorney, holding him in custody “serves no useful purpose.” He has also stated that the “inefficiency of the agency” to conclude the investigation is insufficient to justify remand.

.Mr. Sisodia, according to the CBI, was uncooperative and evasive during the interrogation. In addition, they cited the time lost during his medical examination and his Supreme Court bail hearing.

.The AAP leader had petitioned the highest court for relief after his arrest. However, the Supreme Court refused to intervene and requested that he approach the High Court. He has resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and relinquished the 18 portfolios he previously held.

.Mr. Sisodia is accused of corruption in relation to the liquor policy that was abolished after Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena suggested a CBI investigation.

.The government of Arvind Kejriwal was accused of altering the rules and providing unfair advantages to liquor vend licensees.

,The government of Delhi dismissed the allegations, claiming that the BJP was misusing investigative agencies for political purposes. Mr. Kejriwal stated that the now-abandoned liquor policy was “the most transparent policy in the nation.”
