In continuation of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, a special week will be observed to remember the inspirational life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and his contribution to the country from tomorrow i.e. 17th January to remember selected historical events. This week will end on 23rd January i.e. Netaji’s 126th birth anniversary. A glittering ceremony will be held at Port Blair, Andaman Nicobar this weekend being organized by the Union Home Ministry.
The entire theme of this week will be based on the life of Netaji
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest of the function. The entire theme of this week, being organized under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, will be based on the life of Netaji on the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence. The events during this period will be jointly organized by the CRPF, Central Police Organizations as well as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration and the State Governments of Manipur, Nagaland, Gujarat, Odisha and West Bengal.
Netaji hoisted the tricolor for the first time in Port Blair
It may be known that all the events will be held at those places which have been related to Netaji’s life and his field of work. In accordance with the spirit of public participation, programs have been designed in such a way that a large number of people are involved everywhere. Its purpose is that people take inspiration from the life of a national hero like Netaji and take forward his ideas. In this sequence, the biggest event being organized in Port Blair has special significance. This is the place where on December 31, 1943, Netaji hoisted the tricolor for the first time on Indian soil. The week’s events will begin with events at five places in Manipur.
