The death of veteran actor Uttara Baokar has left members of the film and television industries in a deep state of mourning.
After discovering of Baokar’s death, actress Mona Singh expressed her deepest condolences.
Mona and Baokar shared screen time in the popular television program “Jassi Jaisss Koi Nahin.”In loving remembrance, Mona unearthed a priceless photograph from the set of the program.
Actor Manoj Joshi also expressed sorrow over Uttara Baokar’s death.
“The Indian Film Industry has suffered an irreparable loss with Uttara Baokar Ji’s death. “Deeply distressed by her passing,” he tweeted.

Neena Kulkarni, a veteran actress, recalled collaborating with Baokar on multiple occasions.
“An extraordinary actress. In real life, Uttara tai was a sensitive and private individual who exemplified dignity and humility. Time spent with her during the production of the films Uttarayan and Shevri enriched my life, Kulkarni wrote on Twitter.
According to reports, Baokar perished of a protracted illness at the age of 79 in Pune, Maharashtra. Tuesday was her last day on earth.
Baokar, a graduate of the National School of Drama (NSD), had also performed in a number of plays, including “Mukyhamantri,” “Mena Gurjari,” and “Othello” by Shakespeare.

Ek Din Achanak by Mrinal Sen earned her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also appeared in a number of Marathi films, such as Doghi (1995), Uttarayan (2005), and Restaurant (2006).
