Suryakumar Yadav is without a doubt one of the best batsmen in the world when it comes to T20 cricket. The 32-year-old has impressed spectators all over the globe with his distinctive batting style and vast array of shots. Yadav has established himself as one of the finest in his field, both for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and the Indian team in T20Is.
When it comes to ODI cricket, the star batsman’s performance leaves much to be desired. Suryakumar Yadav has appeared in 26 ODIs for India, scoring a total of 511 runs at an average of 24.33 runs per game. The 32-year-old has participated in 10 ODIs in 2023 and has scored marely 14 runs.
Due to his poor performance in the 50-over format, the batsman has recently reflected on his play. The 32-year-old acknowledged that his performances in the format have been subpar and that there is no guilt in admitting it. He also disclosed that he had numerous discussions with Rahul and captain Rohit Sharma regarding his game strategy.

The Indian Express quoted Suryakumar Yadav as saying, “We want you to play 45 to 50 balls (if you are batting in the last 15 to 18 overs), and you play accordingly. Now it’s up to me to turn this responsibility into an opportunity and contribute to the team’s success.”

Regarding Suryakumar Yadav’s recent performances, the 32-year-old was on fire in the recently concluded third Twenty20 International between India and the West Indies. As the Indian team attempted to chase down a target of 160 runs, Yadav rose to the occasion and played an outstanding innings. The 32-year-old’s 83 runs off 44 deliveries propelled the visitors to a seven-wicket victory and enabled them claw back into the series.
