Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Dawoodi Bohra community on Friday, stating that the community has always passed the test of transformation and progress. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the new Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah campus in Marol, a western suburb of Mumbai.
In addition, the prime minister inaugurated two Vande Bharat trains travelling from Mumbai to Shirdi and Solapur. At an event at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in south Mumbai, Modi inaugurated the CSMT-Solapur Vande Bharat Express and a semi-high-speed railway connecting Mumbai to Sainagar Shirdi in Ahmednagar district. Additionally, the PM inaugurated two MMRDA projects. Due to the visit of Prime Minister Modi, traffic rules have been implemented between 2.45 pm and 6.30 pm in the CST and Andheri areas. With the announcement of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections imminent, this is Modi’s second visit to the city in less than a month.

Ahead to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut stated that Modi’s repeated travels to Mumbai demonstrate that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Eknath Shinde faction are unfit to lead the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. He stated that the Prime Minister seemed to be more concerned with the upcoming BMC elections in Mumbai than he is with addressing key concerns during the ongoing budget session in Parliament.
