Tuesday morning, a detonation at a gas station sparked panic and disorder in the Jammu neighborhood of Narwal. There were no reported casualties in the incident.
United Liberation Front (ULF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) affiliate, has claimed responsibility for the incident.
In response, Jammu East sub divisional police officer, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Zaheer Abbas Jafri stated, “The explosion occurred around 10:50 am on Tuesday at a gas station near Narwal Mandi.” According to the proprietor of the gas station, a short circuit in the electrical panel was to blame.”
The DSP stated that a team of Indian Oil Corporation officials was also dispatched to determine the cause of the explosion, which caused pandemonium in the area as bystanders fled for safety. After the incident, the station’s windows were shattered and a small fire broke out.
No terror angel was initially suspected in the incident.
An employee of the adjacent bank reported, “Suddenly, there were two explosions. We were terrified of militant activity, but it turned out that the fuel station’s pipes had a brief circuit or a leak.”
The ULF posted a picture of the incident along with the following message on social media: “#Narwal Blast…Don’t deceive the public… There is nothing comparable to’mysterious’ or ‘lightning’. The stooges of the occupation forces attempt to make it appear routine, but the public knows the truth. Jammu will become a battlefield for occupational slackers. From this point forward, many’mysterious’ events will occur. Count the figures…#ULF.”

According to police sources, it is a common practice for proxies to claim responsibility for such incidents.
“Because they are front organizations, they do it for propaganda,” said a senior police officer.
On January 21, during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, twin explosions in the same Narwal neighborhood injured nine persons. The two explosions at 11:10 and 11:30 am were suspected to have been caused by powerful IEDs or sticky explosives.
Meanwhile, on April 20, at least five soldiers were slain and another was wounded when their army truck was ambushed in Tota Gali, Poonch district.
