National Girl Child day 2023
National Girl Child Day 2023 is celebrated every year on 24 January in India. The purpose of celebrating this day is to make people aware of the discrimination against the girl child in the country. It was started in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Its goal is to make more people aware of the rights of girls and how important it is for them to get an education, stay healthy, and eat well. Gender bias is a big problem that girls and women have to deal with their whole lives.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development began National Girl Child Day for the first time in 2008. Over the years, the government has taken several steps to improve the lives of girls. These initiatives include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was started in 2015 with the aim of empowering women. Government’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign is a very good step for girls. Through this, many important issues related to girls and women are raised. Many inhuman practices like female feticide have come down now.
These campaigns have helped in changing the mindset of people, especially in rural areas, there has been a lot of awareness about girls’ education. These campaigns have had a great impact on the mindset of the people of the society. Now people are giving equal respect and rights to girls as boys.
