On June 27, 100 days before the forthcoming ODI World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will announce the final schedule. The event is anticipated to begin at 11:30 a.m. in Mumbai. This is the first time that India will host the ODI World Cup exclusively.
Earlier this month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent a proposed schedule to the participating teams. The draft schedule indicates that the first contest would be played on October 5. According to the schedule, the inaugural match will be a rematch of the 2019 ODI World Cup final between New Zealand and England, the defending champions.
On October 8, India will play the formidable Australians, who recently vanquished Rohit Sharma’s team in the World Test Championship final. This confrontation may take place in Chepauk. Each of the hosts’ nine league matches will take place at a distinct venue.
The anticipated match between India and Pakistan could take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A match between bitter rivals on the world’s largest cricket field will undoubtedly be a sight to witness.
PCB has not yet approved the proposed schedule
After obtaining the draft schedule, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has not yet given their approval. According to the 75-year-old, the Pakistani government will determine if the team is permitted to travel to India. Sethi also stated that the aforementioned information has been transmitted to the ICC.

“We have informed the ICC in writing that we cannot approve or disapprove travel to India. Similar to India, our government makes this determination. Whether or not we will play in Ahmedabad will be determined at a later date,” Sethi was quoted by ANI as saying.
“It is too soon to discuss anything. Uncertain which government will be in authority. So far, there has been no discussion. However, the situation is different when there is a stable government. We will ask them when the time is appropriate,” he concluded.
