Operation Kaveri brought 365 Indians from Sudan to New Delhi on Saturday evening, while a flight carrying 231 Indians arrived in the national capital on Saturday morning. Conflicts between the army and paramilitary forces are causing carnage in the Sudan.
Saturday, the Indian Navy ship INS Teg effectively evacuated 288 stranded Indians from crisis-stricken Sudan as part of Operation Kaveri. This was the fourteenth group of stranded citizens returning to India via Jeddah.
Previously, the Port Sudan-based INS Sumedha departed the crisis-stricken nation with 300 passengers bound for Jeddah.
