Police ki Pathshala in Chhattisgarh provides education to children in Naxal-hit Sukma

Police personnel in the Naxal-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh set up a ‘Police ki Pathshala’ to ensure basic education facilities to children in the conflict-hit area.

Police personnel in the Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh established a Police ki Pathshala to provide rudimentary education facilities to children in the conflict-affected area, thereby demonstrating their commitment to society while simultaneously fighting insurgents.

Despite the fact that Chhattisgarh is now recognised as a developed state in terms of agriculture, business, health, education, and other sectors, several insurgency-affected districts of the state still lack basic health and education facilities decades after independence, and Naxal violence may be a contributing factor. In order to restore tranquilly in the Maoist-infested Bastar division, “Men-in-Khaki” are waging an extensive war against Naxalism.

Several police officers are fulfilling their social responsibility, and in the same vein, police officers have founded a school called Police Ki Pathshala where they teach students in their spare time.
“On February 12, a new compound was established near State Highway 5 in Dabbamarka, a Naxal stronghold in the district.” The camp’s TI Bhavesh Shinde and another TI, Shailendra Nag, inspired the establishment of the ‘Police Ki Pathshala’ for the area’s students, according to Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Sharma.

“Camp-based officials instruct children in this school,” the officer continued.”The initiative was taken under the campaign ‘Puna Narkom’ (a term coined in the local Gondi dialect that translates to ‘New Dawn’),” explained the SP, adding that “the school was established using the fewest resources accessible to us.”

SP Sharma stated, “After returning from anti-Naxal operations, officials stationed in the camp teach children in this school and make serious efforts to connect them to education.”According to the officer, a lack of schools exists in the district’s remote and volatile areas because of Naxalism, and the government is taking concrete steps in this regard.

SP Sharma stated, “Until a school with permanent infrastructure arrives at this location, the local police will guarantee the education of children through this temporary school in order to integrate them into mainstream society.”

“Our goal is to educate as many children as possible in order to rid this region of naxalism,” the SP said.
