Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu flew a Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jet at the Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam.
Before returning to the Air Force Station, the President, the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, flew for approximately thirty minutes over the Brahmaputra and Tezpur valleys with a view of the Himalayas.
“The aircraft was piloted by Group Captain Naveen Kumar, the 106 Squadron’s Commanding Officer. “The aircraft flew at an altitude of approximately two kilometers above sea level and a speed of approximately 800 kilometers per hour,” the President’s Secretariat reported on Saturday.
President Murmu is currently on a visit to Assam, making her the third President and second female President to do so.
Later in the visitor’s book, the president wrote a brief remark in which she stated, “It was an exhilarating experience for me to fly in the Indian Air Force’s mighty Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft. It is a source of tremendous pride that India’s defense capabilities now encompass all land, air, and sea borders. I commend the Indian Air Force and the complete staff of Air Force Station Tezpur for coordinating this mission.”
President Murmu was also instructed on the aircraft’s and the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities. (IAF). She expressed satisfaction with the IAF’s operational readiness.
