Tuesday, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad accused Rahul Gandhi of “insulting” India’s democracy, Parliament, and political system through his remarks made in London.
Prasad, speaking to the media from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s headquarters in New Delhi, stated, “The BJP would like to state emphatically and with great regret that Mr. Rahul Gandhi has attempted to disgrace India’s Democracy, India’s Polity, India’s Parliament, India’s Judicial System, and India’s Strategic Security from a foreign country.”
He called Gandhi’s remarks “entirely disgraceful,” stating, “It is utterly disgraceful that Rahul Gandhi, a foreigner, has attempted to undermine India’s consensus that no foreign country should intervene in India’s internal affairs.”
In his speech at Cambridge University in London, the Congress leader criticised the BJP for repressing protests, assaulting minorities, and undermining India’s democratic principles.
“The Indian democracy is under attack and is under duress. I am a leader of the Indian opposition, and we are navigating this space.
