Rahul Gandhi on Bulldozer Policy: ‘After the deaths of a mother and daughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur during an anti-encroachment drive by the administration, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and said that the “bulldozer policy” has become the face of the cruelty of the government. This came after the deaths of the mother and daughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. “It is called a dictatorship when those in power abuse their authority and deny the people their basic human rights, including the right to life.
The event that took place in Kanpur has left a negative impression on my mind. This government’s “bulldozer policy” has become a symbol of the brutal nature of its policies. This is not something that India will tolerate “tweeting on behalf of Rahul Gandhi. On Tuesday, the police announced that a fire that started during an anti-encroachment sweep in the village of Marauli in the Kanpur Dehat district had resulted in the deaths of a woman who was 44 years old and her daughter.
Pramila Dixit, who was 44 years old, and Neha Dixit, who was her daughter both passed away in the incident (22). The families of the victims claimed that officials involved in the drive were responsible for setting fire to the house while the mother and daughter were still inside. On the basis of the claims, a case has been lodged against more than a dozen different officials, including the sub divisional magistrate (SDM), the station officer (SO), and the Lekhpal.

Over the course of a video conference, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak communicated with the members of the victims’ families. The Deputy Chief Minister pledged to provide any and all assistance to the family of the victims and to take severe measures against those responsible for the tragedy. According to the information that has been gathered, the incident took place on Monday afternoon in the village of Marauli during an action against “illegal encroachment” that was being carried out by a team representing the district government.
The members of the family objected to the effort to demolish the building and allegedly threatened to set themselves ablaze in order to halt the removal process. Because of this, a fight broke out between members of the family and officials, and while the commotion was going on, the house caught fire and was completely destroyed. When the fire started, there were a total of four persons present inside the residence at the time it started. The source of the incident is now unknown.
According to official statements, “two of them were killed, and others sustained burn injuries.” In spite of the fact that it was not possible to determine the specific cause of the blaze, the families of the victims believed that their home had been arsonistically torched by neighbourhood officials and undesirables. In an official notice, the Kanpur Police Department stated that a case has been lodged against more than 12 people, including the SDM, SO, and Lekhpal, on the basis of the complaint made by the relatives of the victims. The First Information Report (FIR) also includes the names of four residents who have been identified as Ashok Dixit, Anil Dixit, Nirmal Dixit, and Vishal Dixit.

“There was an allegation that Vishal Dixit, one of the defendants identified in the FIR, was attempting to trespass onto the land that belonged to the local community. This complaint was registered against Vishal Dixit. In relation to this, the administrative team travelled to the location of the incident in order to clear away any encroachment that had taken place there “according to the police. More inquiries into the subject are still being conducted.
