IGL is a joint venture between GAIL and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL). Both the companies have 22.5-22.5% stake in IGL. In this case, the directors of the company are appointed by the boards of directors of both the companies.

Rakesh Kumar Jain Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) has taken over as chairman. IGL supplies CNG and Piped Cooking Gas (PNG) in the National Capital Region and surrounding areas. In a communication sent to the stock exchanges, the company said that Jain has taken over as chairman of IGL on January 14. The public sector GAIL (India) Ltd. I am Director (Finance).

Rakesh Kumar took over as chairman

Rakesh Kumar Jain has replaced Sukhmal Kumar Jain, Director (Marketing) of BPCL. He was the chairman of IGL from October 23, 2022. After the appointment of Rakesh Kumar, Sukhmal Kumar Jain will continue to be the director of IGL. In the exchange filing, the company said that GAIL’s representative Rakesh Kumar Jain is Director (Finance) of GAIL. He is a Cost and Management Accountant by profession.

IGL is JV of GAIL and BPCL

IGL is a joint venture between GAIL and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL). Both the companies have 22.5-22.5% stake in IGL. In this case, the directors of the company are appointed by the boards of directors of both the companies. Also, the chairman is appointed alternately by both the companies. IGL’s stock closed at Rs 416.85 on BSE with a slight fall on Friday.
