Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi Met with Amit Shah
The ‘RRR’ cast has returned to India and is continuing to commemorate their Oscar victory.
Ram Charan, one of the principal characters in the epic film, and his father Chiranjeevi met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday.
The Home Minister was hailed by Ram Charan with a bouquet of flowers and a traditional silk stole. Amit Shah then sent Ram Charan a heartfelt message of congratulations and presented him with a red silk robe.
According to reports, Ram Charan is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi in the near future.
Fans greeted Ram Charan at the airport upon his arrival to the capital city earlier in the day.
After his film RRR’s track Naatu Naatu won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, a multitude of admirers carrying banners and posters with his name and photo greeted the actor upon his return to his native country.
As he left the airport and made his way to his vehicle, Ram Charan was all smiles and kept folding his palms and waiving. Along with him, his wife Upasana was also photographed.
The actor made certain to embrace his admirers through the car’s sunroof.
Ram Charan told reporters stationed outside Indira Gandhi International Airport, “I am delighted and content. Many thanks to everyone. M.M. Keeravani, S.S. Rajamouli, and Chandrabose inspire our pride. Due to their diligence, we walked the red carpet and brought the Oscar to India.”

Ram Charan referred to “Naatu Naatu” as the national anthem of India.
“I appreciate all the fans and people from the northern, southern, eastern, and western regions of India for viewing RRR and making the song “Naatu Naatu” a smash success. Naatu Naatu was not our anthem; rather, it was the melody of the Indian people. It opened the door to the Oscars,” he added.
RRR director SS Rajamouli and Naatu Naatu composer M.M. Keeravaani returned to Hyderabad early on Friday morning after attending the Oscars ceremony.
“Naatu Naatu” was the first Telugu song to be nominated for an Oscar in the “Original Song” category. It won the award despite competition from Rihanna and Lady Gaga. At the occasion were also Rahul Sipligunj, Kaala Bhairava, and the composer, along with director SS Rajamouli, principal actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan, and composer.
