Raveena Tandon is very thankful that she was given the Padma Shri Award, which was announced on the day before Republic Day. The actress started her career in 1991 with the movie Patthar Ke Phool. Since then, she has gone on to become a popular and very successful actress. She has shown what she is made of in a variety of roles in both popular and critically acclaimed movies, including some memorable and powerful ones in Aks, Daman, Satta, and other movies. Raveena just started doing OTT, and the movie Aranyak she was in won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award in 2022.
When she talked to BT, she said, “I am very grateful and honoured. I want to thank everyone for loving me and helping me. I have been in this business for so many years and am still here because they love me. I’ve won a lot of awards this year, but this one is the best.”
She said, “My family was overjoyed, and they called to congratulate me since I wasn’t in Mumbai when the awards were given out.” When your work is appreciated, I feel very proud and proud of myself.”
Raveena talked about how Indian cinema has changed a lot in terms of roles for women actors. She said, “It is amazing to see the kind of roles that are being written for women protagonists. The actress also made it clear that she is happy with the roles that are given to her. She also said, “It’s interesting to see what kinds of roles are being written and how directors are experimenting with different kinds of genres on OTT projects. I wanted to learn more about this platform because it made me want to try something new. In an OTT movie or show, you can push the limits to see what you can do as an actor that is different. You have the time to tell the audience everything they need to know about your character. In an OTT series, you can play with the details to show who the character is, which you can’t do in a two-hour movie.”
Raveena is giving her Padma Shri award to her late father, Ravi Tandon, who was a producer and director. Ravi Tandon died in February of this year. “My dad will get this award. It will have been a year since he died in February. “I know he is watching me and is so proud of me,” she says with a tear in her eye.
