Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has stated that India’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant “must take his time to heal properly” before attempting a comeback to competitive cricket. Pant was involved in a car accident early on December 30 as he was traveling from New Delhi to Roorkee. After receiving treatment for his wounds, he is currently recuperating. The wicketkeeper-batsman will be sorely missed in the impending Indian Premier League, according to former India captain Ganguly. Pant captained the Delhi Capitals franchise for the past few seasons. Ganguly currently serves as the director of cricket at DC.
“He is surely missed by the national team as well. He is still very youthful and has a great deal of time remaining in his career. He is a unique athlete who must take the necessary time to recover. Ganguly stated in a press release issued by the IPL franchise, “We wish him the best, and I will also meet him.”
During the preseason program at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in preparation for IPL 2023, Ganguly has been closely observing all the players.

Regarding the upcoming season, he stated, “It’s been a pleasure working with the guys, and I’m eager for the season to begin. Net practice is beneficial, but we’d like to transition into game mode. And Ricky Ponting has been an outstanding coach. During training, he brings a great deal of intensity. When questioned about David Warner, the captain of the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming season, Ganguly responded, “David Warner is eager to lead the team.” He is an exceptional performer who is always up for a challenge. He has a large number of races and years of experience. Saturday will mark the first matchup between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.
