Sanjay Dutt acquires stake in Zim Afro T10 franchise Harare Hurricanes

Dutt will co-own the franchise with Sir Sohan Roy, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Aries Group of Companies.

As part of the voyage of cricket’s quickest format, T10’s next destination is Zimbabwe, where the Zim Afro T10 will begin on July 20 and conclude on July 29, with all games taking place in Harare.

As Co-Owner of the Harare Hurricanes, one of India’s most beloved Bollywood actors, Sanjay Dutt, is joining this special voyage. Dutt and Sir Sohan Roy, Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Aries Group of Companies, will co-own the franchise. This will be the partnership’s first cricket-related endeavor.

Five privately owned teams will vie for the championship in the inaugural franchise cricket tournament in Zimbabwe. Durban Qalandars, CapeTown Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, and the Joburg Lions will make up the remaining four squads.

The athletes’ draft is scheduled to take place in Harare on July 2 at a grand ceremony.   

Mr. Givemore Makoni, Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket, stated, “It gives me great delight to see some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry supporting the Zim Afro T10, which indicates that the tournament is being well received. Now, all that remains is for the Harare Hurricanes to perform admirably in the tournament next month.”

Co-Owner of the Harare Hurricanes, Sanjay Dutt, stated that he is looking forward to the team’s performance at the Zim Afro T10 tournament.

Sir Sohan Roy wished that the finest team would win the Zim Afro T10 tournament.
