The Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Government of Uttar Pradesh have released the schedule for the third Khelo India University Games (KIUG) Uttar Pradesh 2023.
The Games will commence with a spectacular opening ceremony in Lucknow on May 25 and conclude with the same ceremony in Varanasi on June 3.
The Khelo India University Games Uttar Pradesh 2023 will feature approximately 4,000 athletes from diverse institutions throughout the nation. All athletes will be under the age of 27 and will compete for medals in 21 different sports.
Varanasi, Noida, and Gorakhpur, in addition to the state capital Lucknow, will host the 12-day-long games. However, the Shooting competition will be held in New Delhi. The Kabaddi competition commences in Noida on May 23, 2023, while a few others begin on May 24, 2023, at various venues.

On the occasion of the announcement, Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said, “We are very pleased with the continued momentum of the Khelo India movement and look forward to welcoming athletes from all over the country to Uttar Pradesh.”
