And now the suspense is over. The second season of House of the Dragon has begun production. The HBO program is currently filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, and a first-look image of the Iron Throne in the Great Hall of the Red Keep has been released, according to Deadline.

“House of the Dragon has returned,” said Ryan Condal, Co-Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer, who was enthusiastic about the production. We are delighted to be re-shooting with original family members and new talent on both sides of the camera. Soon, all of your favorite characters will be plotting at council tables, marching with their legions, and riding dragons into battle.”
Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans star in the second season.
There is currently no release date for the second season, but it is probable that the show will return in 2024.
According to HBO, the premiere season averaged at least 29 million viewers per episode, which is higher than all Game of Thrones seasons except for the final two.
