Overview
Despite being attacked numerous times by Mahmud of Ghazni, the Somnath Temple is still considered one of the most fascinating sites in all of Pali.
The temple, which dates back to 1209 and was commissioned by the King of Gujarat, houses a shivling in its inner shrine in addition to statues of Nandi, Ganesha, and Parvati. The temple’s highest point, known as the Shikhar, features beautiful and intricate carvings.
