Sonia Gandhi hospitalised due to fever: Due to bronchitis, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been confined to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. Gandhi was admitted to the hospital under the supervision of Arup Basu, senior consultant, Department of Chest Medicine, and his colleagues, according to DS Rana, Chairman, Trust Society, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.According to the hospital, Mrs. Gandhi is under observation and undergoing examinations.
The notice stated, “Sonia Gandhi is currently being observed and investigated. Her health is stable.”This is the second occasion this year that she has been hospitalised. Sonia Gandhi was admitted to a Delhi hospital in January to be treated for a viral respiratory infection.
She recently attended the 85th session of Congress in Raipur. Mrs. Gandhi alluded to her retirement from politics at the ceremony and expressed happiness that her “political innings could end with the Bharat Jodo Yatra.”
On the first day of the session, the Congress Steering Committee decided not to conduct elections for the party’s highest council, the Working Committee, and authorised new party leader Mallikarjun Kharge to appoint its members.
