SpiceJet grounds two pilots for celebrating Holi inside cockpit

SpiceJet grounded two of its pilots after they were found having gujiya and beverages kept on a critical console in the cockpit on a Delhi to Guwahati flight.

SpiceJet grounds two pilots: Two SpiceJet pilots have been de-rostered after being discovered celebrating Holi while on duty on Wednesday, according to an airline spokesperson. Both pilots positioned a coffee glass on the centre console of the flight deck’s centre console.

“Both pilots have been removed from duty pending an investigation. All flight personnel adhere to SpiceJet’s stringent policy regarding food consumption in the cockpit. A SpiceJet spokesperson stated that appropriate disciplinary action would be implemented upon completion of the investigation.

A user of Twitter commented, “Pilots of @flyspicejet exhibited shockingly unprofessional conduct. If the liquid (which rests on the fuel cutoff levers) spills, it can short circuit the aircraft’s circuitry, compromising its ability to fly safely “.
