The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) team for the impending ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup has been announced. Sri Lanka will host the fifth iteration of the tournament between July 13 and July 23.
Dunith Wellalage will lead the team, with Minod Bhanuka and Lahiru Udara serving as wicketkeeper options. Roshan Ranasinghe, the Honorable Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, gave his sanction to the tournament team. Sri Lanka A, along with Oman A, Bangladesh A, and Afghanistan A, is placed in Group A. Group B includes Nepal A, Pakistan A, the UAE A, and India A.
Soon, the tournament will begin, and it will be intriguing to see which party emerges victorious after a 10-day contest. Six of the eight teams competing in the tournament have announced their rosters. India A will be lead by Yash Dhull and Abhishek Sharma, while Pakistan A will be captained by Mohammad Haris. Saif Hassan will lead Bangladesh A, Shahidullah Kamal will be in command of Afghanistan A, and Rohit Paudel will lead Nepal.

The 50-over tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each division facing off in the semi-finals. Notably, the women’s edition of the tournament took place in June, with India A claiming victory in Bangladesh. The women’s tournament utilized the T20 format, while the men’s tournament utilized the 50-over format.
