Sushila Kumari ‘Rajmata’ of erstwhile Bikaner royal family dies at 94

Her last rites will be performed with full royal honours on Sunday and the body has been kept at the Junagarh fort in Bikaner for people to have a last glimpse of her, family sources said.

On the evening of March 10, a member of the former royal family of Bikaner, “Rajmata” Sushila Kumari, passed away due to a protracted illness. She was 94 years old.According to family sources, her last rites will be performed with full royal honours on March 12, and her corpse has been kept at the Junagarh fort in Bikaner so that people can take one last look at her.

Granddaughter of the deceased and incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Bikaner East, Siddhi Kumari, visited her hospitalised grandmother on the evening of March 10th.After Karni Singh’s passing in 1988, Sushila Kumari managed the affairs of the former imperial family.
