The remarks that Union Minister Kailash Choudhary made at a farmers’ gathering in Hyderabad that was organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have fuelled the flames of controversy. At the conference, Kailash Choudhary argued that a government that adheres to nationalist ideals ought to be elected in the state, and that “hell” should be reserved for anybody who do not shout “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Kailash Choudhary, made the following statement: “Bharat me rehna hai, toh ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ bolna hoga [If you want to live in India, you must chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai].” If you were living in India, would you say ‘Pakistan Zindabad’? After that, the Union Minister continued by saying that the only people who have a place in the country are those who shout “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

“Because of this, I would want to say that everyone who does not chant “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and who does not have confidence in Hindustan and Bharat but instead has faith in “Pakistan Zindabad” ought to travel to Pakistan. It is not necessary at this time,” he stated.

It is “necessary” for the country to have a nationalist ideology in the region, he said, adding that the country should be reinforced through joint efforts. He expressed this in conjunction with the statement that the country should be strengthened. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is responsible for organizing the farmers’ convention that took place on the occasion of the recent approval of the terms of reference of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal by the union cabinet. These terms of reference will control the distribution of river water between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In addition to this, Kailash Choudhary addressed the name of the INDIA alliance and suggested that the Congress was guilty of name stealing. In his allegations, Kailash Choudhary stated:”They have given the name INDIA. However, they will not be engaging in this practice of stealing names going forward. If they did the work of stealing names first, then the people associated with the Congress party were the ones who first stole the name of Mahatma Gandhi ji. Today, it’s Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi on the stage. They hope to achieve their goal of being like Gandhiji by stealing Gandhi. In a same fashion, they want to grab the name of India as well.

“First, they stole the name of Congress, then the name of Gandhi and today INDIA,” stated the politician.

In anticipation of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and union minister stated on Friday that the opposition’s INDIA bloc poses a “substantial challenge” and that the saffron party “very gravely” approaches each election.

Pradhan, an additional Rajya Sabha member, asserts that the BJP’s objective is to secure a third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in office.

“The INDIA alliance poses a significant challenge due to the fact that both the BJP and the NDA approach elections with utmost seriousness.” “Everyone, from entry-level staff to high-ranking officials, approaches every election with utmost seriousness, and the prime minister personally guides us,” the union minister told the PTI news agency.

Furthermore, the minister conveyed his intention to participate in the forthcoming general elections from Odisha and beseeched the BJP to grant him an opportunity. “I have already communicated my desire to the party and requested that they grant me an opportunity,” he stated.

Pradhan’s 2004 election to the Lok Sabha from the Deogarh constituency in Odisha is noteworthy. At present, he serves as the cabinet minister for education and skill development and entrepreneurship, and represents Madhya Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha.

Pradhan’s attack on Rahul Gandhi

In an interview with the PTI, the minister criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for calling for a nationwide caste census, stating that Gandhi and his “family party” ought to disclose the specific initiatives they have undertaken over the past seventy-five years to assist the OBCs and vulnerable sections.

“Those who neglected their obligations and offered criticism…The term for this is unscrupulous politics. His statement was, “You took no action.”

On Monday, following the publication of the caste survey data by the Bihar government, Gandhi reaffirmed his call for population-based rights for all individuals. “According to the caste census of Bihar, 84% of the population is OBC SC ST.” Only three of the ninety Central Government secretaries are OBC, and they are responsible for a mere 5% of India’s budget. Consequently, knowledge of India’s caste statistics is crucial. “Our pledge is that as the population increases, so do the liberties.” He wrote on X, which was previously Twitter.

Under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi) initiative, the municipal corporation, with the assistance of public and private sector banks, has provided loans at least once to 4,652 street vendors in the city, according to Union minister of state for finance Bhagwat Karad on Friday.

The minister made the announcement after conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the PMSVANidhi program during Friday’s North Zonal Convention at Hotel Mountview, which was hosted by the UT civic organization. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh are included in this zone.

The minister told the media that according to the Union government’s goal, Chandigarh was supposed to provide financing to at least 6,300 street vendors, and the city has already reached 74% of its goal. Currently, 3,424 of the total number of recipients have repaid their loans.

Karad also instructed Anindita Mitra, the MCC’s commissioner-cum-mission director, to ensure the goal is met within a month.

Initiated in June 2020 by the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs, the scheme seeks to provide street vendors with affordable microloans. Beneficiaries can obtain unsecured working capital loans of up to 10,000 for a period of one year. The vendors become eligible for loans of 20,000 and 50,000 in the second and third tranches upon punctual repayment of the initial loan.

According to information available on the city’s official website, Chandigarh has granted 7,229 loans to 6,795 individuals. This payment also comprises first-time, second-time, and third-time loans. Currently, the approved amount is 10.29 crore and the quantity disbursed is 9.95 crore.

Comparing Chandigarh’s performance to that of other North Indian states, Punjab provided loans to only 51% of their targeted vendors. Haryana attained 35% of its goal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir each at 77%, and Ladakh at 83%.

Anindita Mitra, MC Commissioner, emphasized the transformative impact of the PM SVANidhi scheme on the lives of street vendors, stating, “The comprehensive support provided by the scheme, including access to affordable working capital loans, skills training, and institutional mechanisms for their holistic development. MCC is committed to working toward the full realization of the scheme’s objectives, guaranteeing the welfare and prosperity of city street vendors.”
