‘Indian leadership self-directed’: Putin praises Modi, criticizes West

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, by referring to him as “a wise man.”

President Putin of Russia praised India on Thursday, saying that the country’s high-tech exports are expanding exponentially. He added that India is growing stronger under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I believe that international law should be adapted to reflect the shifting global situation. Countries with substantial influence in international affairs, such as India with its 1.5 billion people and over 7% GDP growth, deserve representation and the chance to contribute to the resolution of global issues, the Russian president stated in Moscow.

Putin was quoted by PTI as saying, “India’s high-tech exports are growing exponentially, making it stronger each year under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”

Putin added, “They are attempting to portray as enemies anyone who is unwilling to blindly follow these Western elites.” At some stage, they attempted to do the same with India. Obviously, they are courting now. We all grasp this concept very well.

“We perceive the scenario in Asia. Nothing is unclear. The Indian leadership is self-directed, per my examination. It is determined by national interests. I believe that these efforts are incoherent. However, they persist. They are attempting to portray Arabs as enemies. They are attempting to be cautious, but in the end, it all reduces down to this,” the Russian president added.

Putin and Prime Minister Modi share an excellent rapport. Wednesday, the Russian president praised Modi and referred to him as “wise.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin heaped praise on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “very wise man” and noting that India is making great advances in development under his leadership, according to RT.

Putin also expressed optimism for continued collaboration between Russia and India in the areas of financial security and the fight against cybercrime.

“We have very excellent political relations with Prime Minister Modi, who is a man of great wisdom. Under his stewardship, India has made substantial progress in its development. This entirely satisfies both India and Russia’s desire to advance this agenda, Putin said in a video shared by RT News.
