Saturday, while visiting Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed the cornerstone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad. At Hyderabad’s Begumpet Airport, he was met by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. Bandi Sanjay, leader of the BJP in Telangana, was also present at the airport.
K Chandrashekar Rao, chief minister of Telangana, did not greet PM Modi at the airport. In his absence, the chief minister delegated state minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to greet the prime minister at Begumpet airport.
Saturday, the Chief Minister of Telangana did not attend the event held by Prime Minister Modi in his state.
PM Modi laid the cornerstone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and other infrastructure projects during a ceremony at Parade Ground in Hyderabad.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station, which will cost Rs 720 crore, will include world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed landmark station structure.
The redeveloped station would feature a double-level, capacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one location, as well as multimodal connectivity to facilitate the seamless transfer of passengers between rail and other modes, among other amenities.

Prime Minister inaugurated 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the suburban sector of the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region, providing commuters with a fast, convenient, and comfortable mode of transportation.
Additionally, he inaugurated the expansion and electrification of the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar project. The project spanning over 85 kilometers was completed at a cost of approximately Rs 1,410 billion. The initiative will provide seamless connectivity and help increase the average speed of trains, according to a statement from the PMO.
During the program, the Prime Minister also laid the cornerstone for National Highway initiatives valued at over Rs 7,850 crore. These road initiatives will improve Telangana and Andhra Pradesh’s road connectivity and contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region.
The Prime Minister subsequently placed the cornerstone for AIIMS Bibinagar.
AIIMS Bibinagar is being constructed at an expenditure of over Rs 1,350 billion. According to a PMO statement, the establishment of AIIMS Bibinagar is a significant step in providing comprehensive, qualitative, and holistic tertiary care health services to the people of Telangana at their doorstep.
This morning, Prime Minister Modi launched the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from the Secunderabad Railway Station. The newest of the Vande Bharat trains will reduce travel time between the two cities by nearly three and a half hours, which will be of particular benefit to Telugu state pilgrims.
This is the first Vande Bharat Express of India connecting Tirupati — a city in Andhra Pradesh containing the important Hindu shrine of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and other ancient sanctuaries. This is the thirteenth Vande Bharat Express to operate between Secunderabad in Telangana and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
