Fifteen people have died after an electricity transformer exploded on the banks of the Alaknanda river in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand

On Wednesday, an official said that 15 people had been killed and numerous others injured in a power transformer explosion at the Namami Gange project on the banks of the Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district.
