Lyca Kovai Kings won their second consecutive Tamil Nadu Premier League championship on July 12 at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli by defeating Nellai Royal Kings by 104 runs in the final. Suresh Kumar (57 runs off 33 balls), U Mukilesh (51* runs off 40 balls), and Atheeq Ur Rahman (50 runs off 21 balls) helped Lyca Kovai Kings to a mammoth total of 205/5 after captain Shahrukh Khan won the toss and elected to bat first.
In response, the Nellai Royal Kings were dismissed for 101 runs in 15 overs, with Jhatavedh Subramanyan taking 4/21 in four overs and captain Shahrukh Khan taking 3/16 in four overs. As a result, Lyca Kovai Kings claimed their second consecutive Tami Nadu Premier League championship in the seventh season. Notably, Lyca and Chepauk Super Gillies were named joint champions of the 2022 edition after the final was rained out.
