Ambassador Freddy Svane Danish envoy said on Tuesday that the Danish Crown Prince Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth will travel to Tamil Nadu next week to explore the green energy industry.
Danish envoy stated in an exclusive interview with ANI that Tamil Nadu is a top location for Danish or private investments. Also, there are a huge number of Danish businesses operating there, particularly in the energy industry and a large portion of the world’s wind industry supply chain. This means that Tamil Nadu has, let’s say, become more concentrated and consolidated in terms of the wind turbines, plates, and other necessary items, as well as cables.
Hence, he continued, “it makes sense for us to visit Tamil Nadu with our royals, ministers, as well as our corporations, with an emphasis on the green transformation, energy transition, and renewables.
These comments were made as the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Denmark, Mary Elizabeth, prepared to visit India from February 26 to March 02, 2023.
The Royal Couple’s visit will be the first time in twenty years that the Danish Royal family will have visited. The last time His His Highness, the Crown Prince, travelled to India was in 2003. Earlier, as Crown Princess, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II travelled to India in 1963. The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar invited them to India, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Danish envoy responded to a query about the purpose of the trip to Tamil Nadu by saying, “Of course, we will discuss with our Indian partners at all levels, of course, how can we do more, how can we be a strategic partner in the green growth that India is now opting for leading up to the 2047 anniversary.”
In addition to visiting Tamil Nadu, the Crown Prince will meet with the Vice President and give a speech at the opening of the CII-organized conference India-Denmark: Partners for Green & Sustainable Development. He will also speak with Droupadi Murmu, the president.
Being thriving, open democracies, Denmark and India share similar principles with regard to a rules-based international order and agreement on key multilateral issues.
