On Thursday, Rajasthan Police reported that 7 cops were severely injured in an ambush attack by attackers led by a notorious history-sheeter.
The police personnel were attacked with knives, weapons, and gunfire while attempting to apprehend the history-sheeter in Mandwa, according to police.
“At approximately 7:00 p.m., we received word that a criminal sought in multiple cases was hiding in the Kookawas area. A police squad cordoned off the area in response to the tip, Ajay Kumar Lamba, Inspector General (IG) of the Udaipur Range, stated.
According to him, upon arrival, the uniformed personnel came under fire from multiple perpetrators.
“As soon as police officers arrived on the scene, the perpetrators ambushed them and opened fire. They also attacked our personnel with blades and clubs, the inspector general said, adding that seven police officers were injured.
The main suspect is sought in multiple criminal cases, including a month-old incident in Mandwa, according to police.

“The injured police officers are receiving treatment, and none of the suspects have been arrested as of yet,” the IG added.
