Asad Ahmed, the son of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, was died in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force in Jhansi on Thursday, according to police.
Asad was murdered alongside Ghulam, both of whom were suspects in the assassination of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj.
Each of them carried a reward of five million rupees.
The authorities reported the recovery of weapons of foreign origin.
“Asad, son of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, and Ghulam S/o Maksudan, both wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj and carrying a reward of five lakhs rupees each, were died in an encounter with the UPSTF team headed by DySP Navendu and DySP Vimal in Jhansi. Foreign-made sophisticated weapons were recovered, the UP STF said.

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were taken to the CJM Court in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, this morning.
