Umesh Pal Murder Case: Bulldozers Demolish Properties Of Atiq Ahmed’s Close Aide In Prayagraj

Umesh Pal Murder Case: On Wednesday, the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) began demolishing the residence of the aide of notorious gangster Atiq Ahmed, who, along with his sibling Ashraf, has been named in the Umesh Pal murder case.

Khalid Zafar’s residence is said to be located in Chakia, beneath the Prayagraj police station of Kareli.This property, which is currently under surveillance, was previously issued a notice for being fraudulently constructed. The residence is estimated to cost approximately Rs 2.5 crore.

A few days ago, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party of supporting mafia (criminals) and stated, “unko mitti mein mil jayega.”Umesh Pal, a vital witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was gunned down in broad daylight on February 24 outside his residence in Prayagraj.

Former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Atiq Ahmed is the chief suspect in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal and is accused of hatching Umesh Pal’s murder plot from within Gujarat’s Sabarmati prison, where he is presently lodged.

Outside of Pal’s residence in the Sulem Sarai neighbourhood of Prayagraj, on the evening of February 24, armed individuals opened fire on Pal and two police officers. Umesh Pal and one of the detectives, Sandeep Nishad, perished, while Raghendra Singh is in critical condition.
The local police eliminated Arbaaz in an encounter on Monday for his alleged role in the murder of Umesh Pal.

A police investigation revealed that Arbaaz, a resident of the district’s Sallahpur area, was the driver of the vehicle in which Umesh Pal was slain. In the interim, police have detained Sadaqat Khan, an additional suspect in the case. He has been placed under 14 days of judicial custody.
