A bridge under construction collapse in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Sunday, June 4. The images captured on camera depicted two sections of the bridge collapsing successively. No casualties have been reported thus far.
In Khagaria, Bihar, the Aguwani Sultanganj Ganga bridge was being constructed at a cost of over Rs 1,700 crore.

According to reports, at least a 3-foot section of the bridge fell into the Ganga River. In April, the bridge had also sustained some damage from a typhoon.
Between Khagaria, Aguwani, and Sultanganj, the middle section of the bridge was being constructed over the Ganges. Additionally, a portion of the bridge had collapsed two years prior.
Bihar Member of Parliament Vijay Kumar Sinha criticized the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government in response to the bridge collapse. He stated to ANI, “It is customary to solicit commissions. Administrative disarray and corruption are a consequence of his unstable political mindset. While the system is disintegrating, they are discussing opposition unity.”
A portion of the bridge constructed across the Burhi Gandak river in Bihar’s Begusarai had collapsed earlier in December 2022. According to reports, the bridge had acquired cracks and pillars 2 and 3 had collapsed.

A month earlier, in October, a worker was killed and another was injured when a bridge under construction collapsed in the Nalanda district of the chief minister Nitish Kumar. In the districts of Kishanganj and Saharsa, bridges under construction collapsed prior to opening.
