Tooth Pari, an upcoming Netflix web series, contains an unusual love story in which a shy dentist falls for a vampire who arrives to fix her tooth. As the couple tries to sort out their relationship, a conflict between the human and vampire worlds gradually comes to light. Pratim D. Gupta has conceived and directed the series.
Netflix India tweeted the series’ first trailer with the caption, “She was a vampire girl and he was a dentist boy. What could possibly fail? Discover the tale of Rumi and Roy in Tooth Pari. Arrives April 20!” The new Netflix program was intriguing to viewers. One Twitter user, Bhai bangali vampire dekhbi (Look at the Bengali vampire). While another commented, “This looks like a lot of fun!”
The trailer depicts the fateful encounter between Rumi (Tanya Maniktala) and Dr. Roy (Shantanu Maheshwari), who she visits to fix her broken fang. Soon, the couple falls in love, but when Roy discovers Rumi’s true nature, he becomes a little frightened. Their love tale also appears to be threatened by opposing human and vampire forces.
Under Kolkata, it appears that a whole other world of vampires exists. A police officer (Sikandar Kher) uncovers Rumi’s missing fang and concludes that the vampire myth may in fact be true. Revathy appears to be assuming a leadership role among the vampires. The series, which is produced by Endemol Shine India, also features Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee, and Adil Hussain. He is also a member of the dance group Desi Hoppers, which won the 2015 World of Dance Championship in Los Angeles.
