Washington: John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, stated that the United States has significant concerns regarding China’s behavior, particularly its coercive and aggressive behaviour in the South China Sea.
In response to a question from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy about the United States’ relationship with China, Kirby stated, “In some cases, we have significant concerns about China’s behavior, particularly their coercive and aggressive behavior, for instance in the South China Sea in pursuing false maritime claims, concerns about intellectual theft, and some trade practises.”
Doocy had inquired as to whether President Biden believes China is abiding by international traffic regulations.
The NCS added, “There are other areas where we believe there is room for cooperation with China, and we want to be able to pursue that as well; however, in order to do so, you must keep the lines of communication open and maintain the capacity to communicate, especially when things are as tense as they are right now.”
Tuesday, the United States refused to corroborate a news report claiming that the country provided vital intelligence to the Indian military last year that aided in its successful border confrontation with China.
National Security Council coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House, John Kirby, took the podium during the daily press briefing and stated, “No, I cannot confirm that” when questioned about the news report.
